VEGAN AND GLUTEN FREE APPLE CRUMBLE

The best thing is that only one ingredient needs to be replaced to make it vegan so we can all enjoy it. Needless to say how easy the recipe is and trust me, IT NEVER FAILS!

It is not for nothing that this was our first video recipe..hope you like it as much as we do.

WHAT YOU NEED ⠀

For the filling: ⠀

5 small size or 3 big size green apples

1/2 lemon juice

1 tbsp of cinnamon (optional) ⠀

For the crumble: ⠀

100g almond meal/flour (or ground almonds)

50g gluten free rolled oats (sub spelt flour or more almond meal)

150g sugar (the one that you have a home)

100 g vegan butter or coconut oil

100 gr Macadamias toasted and roughly chopped (or you can use any nut of your choice) ⠀

WHAT YOU DO

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit)

Peel, core and cut the apples into 1cm thick slices

Place them one next to each other into a greased 20cm square baking dish (at least 5cm deep) or a 23cm round dish. Cover the whole surface and Flatten down with your hands.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and squeeze 1/2 lemon over the apples. Keep aside.

For the crumble topping, mix the flour, the oats, the sugar and the butter in a bowl with your hands until the mixture looks like moist breadcrumbs.

Pour the crumble mix all over the apples and spread until you reach every corner of the dish

Add the macadamias in top of the crumble and place in the oven for 25-30 mins until the top is golden.

Serve warm with the ice cream of your choice (we used a vegan salted caramel one). 🍦 ⠀

#TIPSBEE: If you want regular version just use regular butter and any flour that you have at home. ⠀
